What is a Home Watch?
Home Watch is defined as “A Visual Inspection of a Home or Property Looking for Obvious Issues” Home Watch is known by many names: house watch, house check, home concierge, caretaker, absentee home service, property watch, condo watch, condo care and so on. Regardless of the name, a Home Watch service performs scheduled inspections of “vacant” properties while the owner is away.
The official definition of Home Watch is “a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.”
How often do I need someone to inspect my home?
This is your personal decision. We here at Home Management Professionals tailor to your desires. If an issue arises, it is always best if someone can catch it before it becomes a large problem. For safety reasons, once a week would be best, but many clients feel every two weeks is sufficient. We can schedule inspections once a month as well. We believe that less frequent inspections do not provide the level of security needed to ensure that your home is adequately taken care of while you are away.
Why not have a neighbor watch my home?
Each season keys are given to friends and neighbors Doing Favors who have no qualification other than living next door. Most homeowners are not even sure what is supposed to be done on a visit or even what to look for. Often expensive and avoidable damage occurs. Neighbors are great and usually free of charge, but most of them do not have the expertise to properly inspect your home, which is a very large investment on your part. In most cases, neighbors pick up your mail, newspaper, maybe take a quick look inside your home and then watch your home from across the street. We use an extensive checklist to ensure each potential issue can be detected before it becomes a major problem.
We are available at all times, both for your regular inspections and if there is an emergency. You never know if your neighbor is going to be in town or on vacation. Our fees are a small price to pay for knowing your home is being taken care of by professionals.
Why do I need a Home Watch Service?
There are so many things that can happen the second that you step out your door: storms, break-ins, electrical problems, water leaks, mold, insects, the list can go on and on. Smart Home Watch not only identifies these issues should they arise, but work to avoid them altogether by providing preventative services with every home check. Our services can also alleviate the pressure on your family and friends by relieving the need for them to take time to check on your house.

Is Home Management Professionals licensed and insured?
Yes, we are licensed, Bonded, and Insured to offer our services to the Scottsdale area including Paradise Valley, Carefree, Cave Creek, and Fountain Hills.
Are you available 24/7?
Yes, HMPros will take calls at any time, you never know when one of those calls is an emergency issue.
How do I know my home is being taken care of while I am away?
Home Management Professionals uses a custom program for reporting our inspections. The software we used was developed by QRIDit and has a built-in GPS system which only allows us to obtain access to our reporting software when we are inside the home. The GPS system, QRIDit, finds our client’s home via the address on Google Maps and prints out a QRID, which is then placed in our client’s home. This ensures that someone was actually at the home at the time of the inspection. There is also a QRIDit area in the services section of our website that provides a comprehensive video about this program.
Do you watch homes for short periods of time?
Yes. Whether you are gone for 1 week or 3 years HMPros can help.
Will HMPros provide services even if we don't participate in the home watch checklist service?
Yes – Many of our clients want services all year-long such as housekeeping, landscaping, remodeling, and many other services that don’t need to be implemented on a regular schedule.
What if I have a situation at my home?
If something arises in your absence, our team will effectively handle any situation in the most cost-effective manner available. If the problem is not time-sensitive, we will contact you to discuss and implement a solution. Meanwhile, if it is an emergency, we will handle it in the safest, fastest, and most cost-effective manner possible. HMPros will keep you in the loop every step of the way.
Is HMPros home watch service a security service?
No; however, by having regular home checks and maintaining a visible presence in your empty home may act as a crime deterrent. HMPros can also act as a contact for alarm companies and can respond to alarm calls and work with local law enforcement.
How is payment accepted?
Clients have the option of paying by check, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Credit Card, and we even take CryptoCurrency.
Can you forward my mail and parcels?
Home Management Professionals can forward mail and parcels from your Scottsdale vacation home to your permanent residence.
Will I get locked into a long-term contract?
NO – We do not require contracts. We provide services on a month-to-month basis, and you are under no obligation to continue. If you have any questions feel free to contact us, and we look forward to working with you.
